Our planet is aging and experiencing many changes. It is our responsibility as its inhabitants to take care of our planet and the resources that are available to us. Up until recently we haven’t exactly been doing a great job at preserving everything that is available to us and we take advantage of all of our planet’s resources. With fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions depleting our Ozone layer and precious resources such as water starting to become scarce in certain parts of the world, if we continue on at the pace that we are going, our planet will not survive for long. The trend of “going green” is one that we obviously fully support as all of our products and services are aimed at convincing and helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint by switching to energy efficient lighting, solar power and renewable energy. There are many benefits of energy efficiency:
- LED lighting uses a fraction of the energy used by an average bulb without sacrificing luminosity. LED bulbs can last for up to 50,000 hours as opposed to the average 750 hours of an incandescent bulb.
- Energy efficiency greatly reduces pollution.
- The federal government may offer sizeable subsidies for businesses who implement energy efficient lighting. The cost savings are also immediately recognized within the first month of installment.
- If renewable energy becomes a standard in the majority of U.S. homes then our country will depend less on foreign support for gas, oil and other energy sources.
An important aspect of being eco-friendly is giving back to the community. Energy Efficient Services is a company built on a solid foundation of giving back to the community. Energy Efficiency is something we are passionate about and we believe in the benefits of reducing carbon emissions. We are paired up with Rebuilding Together San Francisco, which is an organization founded in 1989 that provides repair and renovation programs for low income, elderly and disabled San Francisco residents for free. The program also assists nonprofit and community facilities. These programs aim to improve the basic quality of life needs of the homeowners they work with. This helps to create a safer environment and gives homeowners the chance to live independently for longer in their own homes. Rebuilding Together San Francisco also helps natural disaster victims get back into their homes quicker. The organization believes that San Francisco should be a safe and diverse place for residents of any age, income or disability. We are big supporters of this organization because of the work they accomplish for San Francisco residents, but also because they re-use resources that are available to them, which is good for the environment.
